2016 Mayo Cleaner Community Awards

The 2016 Mayo Cleaner Community Awards took place in Breaffy House on Monday the 21st November last. There are numerous categories in the annual Cleaner Community Awards. There was a slight change to this years 2016 Mayo Cleaner Community Awards with the addition of a new category which Swinford were entered.

Litter Action Community Competition

The Litter Action Community Competition is a new category in the annual awards which Swinford took part in this year. Each entrant in this category was awarded €1000 at the beginning of the competition. After each round of judging, you are deducted €1 of each piece of litter found in your area. Most months, Swinford did quite well, however not so in other months.

We would like to thank everyone for all the extra effort during the judging, of both the cleaner community awards and our own Tesco Swinford Clean Street League. This all is a huge help for the National Tidy Towns competition, which saw an increase of 10 points this year for Swinford.
