Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection

There will be a free household hazardous waste collection taking place on Saturday the 17th of November. The free collection is being provided by Mayo County Council Environment department and will be located at the council depot in Kilkelly. The depot is located along the N17 between the Kiltimagh Rd turnoff and the Applegreen petrol station.

Hazardous Household Items Accepted:

Adhesives & glues, Aerosols, Anti-Freeze, Batteries (household, car & fence batteries), Herbicides, Household detergents, Medicinal waste (human & animal), Cosmetics, Oil (cooking & engine), Oil filters, Paints & varnishes and Pesticides.

Please Note: Only household items above will be accepted on collection day. At the last hazardous waste collection in Swinford, there was a huge turnout and we would advise you to try to get there early.
