There will be a public consultation on the proposed Swinford Link Road.
There will be a public consultation on the proposed Swinford link road and the N5/N26/N58 route corridors. The Swinford link road public consultation will take place in the Cultural Centre from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday the 19th November. The planning and design for N5 Turlough to Bohola Road Project Road commenced in 2012. In March 2014 the extents of the Study Area were increased to include the proposed N26 Swinford link road in consideration of the upgrade of the N26 from Swinford to Mount Falcon. The project is now called the N5 / N26 / N58 Turlough to Bohola and Swinford to Mount Falcon Road Project.
The preferred route corridor selections for the N5 / N26 / N58 Turlough to Bohola and Swinford to Mount Falcon Road Project will be on display on the dates and times in the following locations;
- Straide : Straide Community Centre – Monday 17th November from 2pm to 8pm
- Foxford : Mayfly Hotel – Tuesday 18th November from 2pm to 8pm
- Swinford : Cultural Centre – Wednesday 19th November from 2pm to 8pm
- Ballina : Hotel Ballina – Thursday 20th November from 2pm to 8pm
Staff from Mayo County Council (Mayo National Roads Design Office) will be available to answer questions at the Cultural Centre. Mayo County Council invite your comments in relation to the emerging preferred route corridors which will be finalised following a review of the information gathered at this Public Consultation, together with additional studies on the emerging preferred routes, if required.
The scheme is at the route selection stage at the moment. Submissions from the public were being accepted last July. Submissions are again being sought from the public and interested parties, to be submitted by the 2nd of January 2015. For more information visit the NRA Design website.
