St Patrick’s Day Parade Poster 2013
This Sunday 17th of March will be the 62nd annual St Patrick’s Day Parade to be held in Swinford. The very first Parade was held in Swinford way back in 1952 and has continued every year ever since without fail!
The theme for this years St Patrick’s Day Parade is, “Beauty dies where Litter Lies/Keeping Swinford Tidy”. Swinford Tidy Towns Committee are delighted that the Theme for this years parade focus’s on keeping swinford tidy and we hope that people will see the amount of work, that the committee and all our volunteers have and continue to put in to keep Swinford Tidy.
Swinford Tidy Towns will be entering a float in this years Parade, which we have just put the finishing touch’s to this evening. The Committee would like to thank our Artist & designer, Varina Mc Nicholas that put in many hours designing and sketching. Thanks also to the painters Deirdre, Tom, Alan & Kevin that also put in some late hours working on the float.
Swinford St Patrick’s Day Parade will take place this Sunday at 3pm. People entering floats & Marching Bands are asked to assemble at Tesco car park No later than 2.30. There is over €1000 in prize money this year! Prize’s will be announced and presented on Monday night 18th March, in The Gateway Hotel Swinford at 8pm. Admission is Free. Entertainment by Swinford Variaty Group, who are staging their one act play “Up The Garden Path” Please do come along for a great nights entertainment.
