Free Small Electrical Appliance Collection by Swinford National Green Schools

Swinford National School Green Schools committee will be holding a small electrical appliance collection in the National school on Wednesday January 21st. Please note, this will be a Small Electrical Appliance Collection. You can drop of appliances at the Hall on the senior side of Swinford National School. Drop off dates are Monday the 19th and Tuesday the 20th of January. Drop off times are between 9.10 Am and 4.00 Pm on all days. You can also contact any member of Swinford Tidy Towns. Items that can be recycled are as follows;

Basically anything Electrical with a plug or Battery can be recycled for free. For example;

Vacuum cleaners & cordless vacuum cleaners,

Iron’s, Toasters & Sandwich makers, Kettles,

Coffee grinder, Coffee maker, Can opener, Electric knives,

Bathroom scales, Kitchen scales, Electric blankets,

Beard trimmer, Electric razor, Hair trimmer, Nose and ear trimmer, Curler set, Curling iron/tongs,

Hair dryer, Hair drying hood, Hair styler, Electric toothbrush,

Alarm clock, Individual clock, Stopwatch, Clocks, Watches, Torch’s, Electric Toys,

Computers, printers (no ink cartridges), Mobile phones, Telephones, Cordless Phones,

Phone Chargers & All types of chargers, Cables & Leads (computer, TV, Stereo Hi Fi etc)

Keyboard, Mouse, External drives, Modems, Photocopiers, Scanners,

BlueRay/DVD/Video recorder with or without HDD, BlueRay/DVD/Video player with or without HDD,
Satellite receiver with or without HDD, Saorview/Freeview receiver with or without HDD,

And of course all types of household batteries.

Green Schools Committee

The Green School Committee was first set up in 2004 and we were awarded our 1st Green Flag in 2006. We are now on our 5th Green Flag which was awarded in June 2014. This years Committee are Teachers Marian Thornburgh, Anna Doherty, Mairead Monaghan, Secretary Rita Campbell and Students Ríona Foot, Antony Gleeson, Ella Gallagher, Diarmuid Monaghan, Ella Pidgeon and Alan Howie.
