Repak Recycling Week from the 13th to the 19th of October 2014.
Today is the start of the Repak Recycling Week which runs from the 13th to the 19th of October. Ireland is now in 2nd place in Europe for the amount of packaging recycling done in the country, thanks to the numerous awareness programmes in place. The plastic bag levey for instance has made a huge impact on our landscape! How many of you remember the amount of plastic carrier bags blowing around the countryside and stuck in trees and hedgerows? !
Almost everything in the home, at work or in school can be recycled. Remember to wash away any food or residue on containers or jars. Flatten milk cartons or cereal box’s for example so as to fit more into your recycling bin.
Have you ever seen or bought an item in a shop and spent ages opening the numerous layers of plastic or cardboard packaging? Did you ever think to yourself why do they need all that packaging? Well now you can do something about it! Repack would like to hear from you if you have noticed any products displaying what appears to be excessive packaging. You can e-mail them at packaging@repak.ie outlining the packaging details and your own name and contact details. They will seek to address the most commonly reported issues with the Company in question.
