Walk to school week 2014

The National Walk to School Week 2014 will take place this year from the 12th to the 16th of May. Students from participating Green Schools from all over Ireland will be taking part in the Walk To School Week and will be encouraging other students, teachers and parents to also take part. The Green Schools Committee will be promoting walking and other sustainable travel modes, including cycling during the National Walk To School Week and will be encouraging pupils, parents and teachers to walk and cycle to school whenever possible throughout the school year.

The Green Schools National WOW day will take place on Wednesday 14th May 2014, with the aim to reach the target of 20,000 people walking to school on the day all over Ireland! Download your free Walk To School Week poster here.

Green Schools Committee

The Green School Committee was first set up in 2004 and we were awarded our 1st Green Flag in 2006. We are now on our 5th Green Flag which was awarded in June 2014. This years Committee are Teachers Marian Thornburgh, Anna Doherty, Mairead Monaghan, Secretary Rita Campbell and Students Ríona Foot, Antony Gleeson, Ella Gallagher, Diarmuid Monaghan, Ella Pidgeon and Alan Howie.
