Clean Coasts Roadshow in the Mulranny Park Hotel on Saturday the 7th March
Clean Coasts are delighted to be bringing their Clean Coasts Roadshow to Co. Mayo. The Clean Coasts Roadshow will be in the Mulranny Park Hotel on Saturday the 7th of March. The Roadshow which is also running in a number of locations nationwide aims to bring together all those with an interest in protecting their local beaches, seas and marine life.
Clean Coasts Ireland have been running the #2minutebeachclean and #2minutestreetclean projects for the last year or two. The #2minutestreetclean is aimed towards towns and villages further away from the coast but has the same effect as the #2minutebeachclean.
There are over 360 Clean Coasts groups in Ireland that carry out organised beach cleans removing large amounts of marine litter from the environment. The #2minutebeachclean idea is simple and inspiring. It encourages all of us to give something back each and every time we enjoy a walk along the beach or a take a dip in the ocean. Every piece of litter removed from the marine environment is a piece of litter that won’t pollute our oceans or be ingested by marine life. For more information on Clean Coasts Ireland and a map of all the Clean Coasts groups, visit the Clean Coasts Coast Care page.
The event will include talks from local Clean Coasts groups and discussions on the coastal environment. Speakers included;
– Clean Coasts Programme – Olivia Crossan, Coastal Programme Officer, An Taisce.
– Claggan Island Clean Coasts – Ann Howard
– Leave No Trace – Maura Lyons
– Mulranny Environmental Group – Sean Carolan
