2017 Mayo Litter Action League September Results

Love where you live logoThe 2017 Mayo Litter Action League September results for Swinford have been published. This is the final month of judging for this years litter action league. The final results and awards will be announced sometime in November, date to be confirmed. Swinford received some favourable results this year in the early rounds of the litter league at the beginning of the summer. September however, was not so good. Cigarette litter was the major culprit. There has been major improvements in this area this year however, thanks mainly to all the business’s in the town.

This area was inspected in the afternoon.

Along Chapel Street there was 22 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, plastic bag, pens and papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Along Station Road and Circular Road there was 2 pieces of litter noted which consisted of papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Along Market Street there was 15 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, pens, cigarette box, cigarette wrapper, and papers. Also noted were 70 pieces of cigarette litter and 6 marks will be deducted for this.

Along Bridge Street there was 24 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, take away lids, pens and papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Riverside, Davitt Place and Pound Lane were litter free.

Along Main Street there was 41 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, cans, receipts, cigarette box, cigarette wrapper, take away cup, newspaper and papers. Also noted were 60 pieces of cigarette litter and 5 marks will be deducted for this.
