2017 Mayo Litter Action League June results for Swinford
The 2017 Mayo litter action league June results for Swinford have been published where we scored 55 points. There has been a huge improvement in this months judging, huge credit to everyone in Swinford doing their bit! There has been a noticeable decrease in the amount of cigarette butts too, which is very welcome. We would also like to thank all the students from 5th and 6th class and teachers from Scoil Muire agus Treasa for their litter pick all around Swinford recently. Judging in Swinford for the month of July will take place between the 5th and 28th.

This area was inspected in the morning.
From the speed limits on the Foxford Road to Quinn’s Pub there was 8 pieces of litter noted, these consisted of plastic bottles, paper and sweet wrappers.
From Quinn’s pub on lower main street to the end of Main Street there was 18 pieces of litter noted these consisted of paper wrappers, cigarette box, sweet and chocolate wrappers and a plastic bottle.
The Aclare Road was litter free.
Along Market Street there was 3 pieces of litter noted, these consisted of tissue papers.
From Market Street and down along Circular Road there was 4 pieces of litter visible, these consisted of a coffee cup and sweet wrappers.
On Brookville Avenue there was 7 pieces of litter visible these consisted of cigarette box, drink bottle and plastic wrappers.
Riverside and Davitt Place were litter free.
Along Bridge Street there was 2 pieces of litter noted, these consisted of paper wrappers. From Bridge Street to the speed limits past Corrib oil garage there was 3 pieces of litter noted, these consisted of a drink bottle and sweet wrapper.
From Market Street to the speed limits out towards Tesco this was litter free.
