2017 Good Friday Spring Clean
The 2017 Good Friday Spring clean will take place on the 14th of April this year. The annual Swinford Tidy Towns national spring clean begins as usual at 11 am meeting at the “No Name Club” on Chapel Street. We get a great turnout on the day but would always love to see more! If you have an hour to spare, why not come along for the “craic”! We usually start at around 11 with a group photo, finishing around 1 with another group photo with all that was collected on the spring clean. Tabard’s, gloves, litter picker’s, rubbish and recycling bags will be provided by the National Spring Clean campaign and Swinford Tidy Towns on the day.
The National Spring Clean campaign, Ireland’s largest anti-litter initiative, has been taking place nationwide throughout the month of April and saw more than half a million people come together in community groups to organise clean ups to improve their local community and environment. Swinford Tidy Towns take part in the spring clean every year on Good Friday morning. The National Spring Clean is Ireland’s largest anti-litter initiative organised by An Taisce and funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
