We had a huge responce from the people of Swinford, tourist’s and visitor’s to the town during this years Síamsa Sráide. There was great interest in the plans which we had on display, for the work that is planned for all the approach roads into the town, Ballina Rd, Dublin Rd, Kilkelly Rd and Kiltimagh Rd. There was also great interest in the Swinford Clean Street League June and July results which we had on display. The Tidy Towns Committee would like to thank everyone that donated money to Swinford Tidy Towns during Siamsa Sraíde, €484.81 in total, over the 2 days. The positive responce and great feedback that we are getting from the people of Swinford, and from tourist’s and visitor’s, will drive the Tidy Towns Committe on to continue what we are doing, and take on more projects going forward.

We had a visit to our stall on Wednesday from  the Mayo County Manager, Mr Peter Hynes, Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Mr Cyril Burke and Cllr John Cribben, and our own Committee member, Cllr Joe Mellett. They were very impressed with the work Swinford Tidy Towns has done so far, and have pledged their full support to the committee. Swinford Tidy Towns look forward to working with them in the future with various projects that we have planned for the town.
