Christmas Tree RecyclingReminder for anyone with Christmas Trees left lying out in the back yard. Mayo County Council will take your Christmas for free recycling. You can drop off your tree at the council yard at Kilkelly Road Swinford. You will be able to drop off your tree up until Saturday 19th January. Here are other locations in Mayo;

Achill:                        Beside the Bottle Banks at Keel.

Ballina:                      Reception area at Rathroeen, Landfill Site, Killala Road .

Ballinrobe:               Mayo County Council area office, Kilmaine Road.

Ballyhaunis:                        Beside Bottle Banks in the Car Park, Ballyhaunis.

Belmullet:                 Civic Office Car-Park, Church Road, Belmullet.

Castlebar:                 Machinery Yard in Moneen – Use Rear Entrance.

Claremorris:             Car Park of Area Office

Kiltimagh:                 Council Depot, Kilcun, Kiltimagh.

Louisburgh              Car Park, Chapel Street, Louisburgh.

Newport:                   Recycling Centre at Derrinumera Landfill Site.

Swinford:                  Mayo County Council Pound, Kilkelly Road, Swinford.

Westport:                  Council Depot, Ballinrobe Road, Westport.

Please ensure all decorations are removed from trees prior to recycling.

Please note that the above locations are the only drop off points provided by Mayo County Council for Christmas Trees.     Trees deposited at any other public locations will be treated as litter and Litter Pollution Fines will apply.
