2017 Mayo Litter Action League May Results

The 2017 Mayo Litter Action League May Results for Swinford have now been published. The Mayo Litter action league competition judges were in Swinford sometime between Monday 1st and Wednesday 31st of May. One of the biggest litter items were cigarette butts. This is not unique to Swinford however, cigarette butts are the #1 litter item in Ireland. We would ask that you please use the receptacles for cigarette butts provided by local business outside their premises. We would ask all business’s to download the monthly results at the bottom of the page and display them on your premises, thank you. See last months results here.

This area was inspected in the afternoon.

Along the Kiltimagh Road there was 11 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers and papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Along Station Road and Circular Road there was 13 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, plastic forks, cigarette box, cigarette wrapper, can, bottle and papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Along Market Street there was 28 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, cans, cigarette box, cigarette wrapper, receipts, a pen and papers. Also noted were 90 pieces of cigarette litter and 8 marks will be deducted for this.

Along Bridge Street there was 11 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers and papers. Some cigarette litter was noted but no marks will be deducted for this.

Riverside, Davitt Place and Pound Lane were litter free.

Along Main Street there was 39 pieces of litter noted which consisted of sweet wrappers, cans, bottles, cigarette box, cigarette wrapper, take away cup, newspaper and papers. Also noted were 60 pieces of cigarette litter and 5 marks will be deducted for this.
